I grew up in a Christian home, where I was nurtured by amazing parents who were in ministries throughout my childhood into adulthood. They faithfully served the Lord and taught me to love God with all my heart, soul and mind. Growing up as a pastor’s kid, I have played many different roles within the church.
In my early twenties, I pursued my bachelor’s at a Christian college, and I even went through two years of a master’s at the seminary. I thought I knew God and who Jesus was, but little did I know that I only had a glimpse of who God was.
About three years ago, my life took an unexpected turn, and I decided to continue on the path of destruction. I pursued the worldly pleasures even though I knew they weren’t going to give me true satisfaction. Seeing myself in misery and despair, finding myself in a pigpen, like the prodigal son, at the very darkest hour of my life, Jesus found me. He was there at the deepest end of a personal abyss.
Just as the prodigal son made the promise to go back to the Father’s house, I made the decision to turn around and return to the Father’s house. Jesus was with me every step of the way. He led me to the green pasture!
It was a journey for me to understand the gospel not only through my knowledge but also in my heart. Now as I understand the gospel of Jesus Christ, my identity is in Christ alone, and I have been set free from my guilt and sin! Within a short span of time, I have seen so much growth in both spiritual and physical life.
God has blessed me with a gathering of believers at Sojourn and wonderful fellowship with my community group. The joy that sparks in my heart is unquenchable in every circumstance. I am excited to embark on a new journey of faith as I profess my faith in Jesus Christ!
Please join me in celebrating baptism as a symbol that Jesus has saved me, a sinner, and has helped me to see the light of the gospel! Jesus saves! “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
