What to Expect

At each of our churches, we want you to come as you are. God is calling women and men of all races and cultures, political persuasions and economic backgrounds, to become One in Christ. Here’s what you can expect when visiting with us:

  • Each service lasts for approximately 60-75 minutes.
  • We provide free childcare for newborns up to children in the fifth grade.
  • Come as you are. For most people at our gatherings that tends to be something like jeans and a shirt - whether collared or tee.
  • We preach the Bible, verse-by-verse, book-by-book. We believe that in the pages of the Bible you will find a gripping story and satisfying explanations of and solutions to the troubles of life.
  • Our bands include elements of rock, pop, bluegrass, folk, and other styles, while leading the congregation in songs that cover the full range of emotion from sorrow to joy, and the full truth of God’s gospel. We write some of our own songs, and we also play arrangements of classic hymns and modern worship songs.

If you do not already have a church home, we would love for you to join us. Every Sojourn Church has ministries available for the entire family, and we welcome the opportunity to involve your gifts and talents as we serve our community.

If a church requires nothing of you as a member and commits nothing to you as a church, it is practicing meaningless membership. Membership at a Sojourn Church is a commitment to our family, and a commitment from our family and pastors to you.

Membership Class

The first step to becoming a member at a Sojourn Church, or simply learning more about what we believe, is to attend one of our quarterly membership classes.

Membership Interview

Following your membership class, you’ll be invited to meet with a Sojourn leader for a membership interview. Don’t worry—this is simply a time for us to get to know your story more personally and answer any questions you may have about our membership covenant.

*If you have already attended a membership class, but have not had your membership interview, please fill out this form and we will contact you to schedule a time.

What is baptism?

Baptism is a public profession of a restored relationship with God through faith in Jesus.

Who should be baptized?

If someone has made a genuine profession of faith, then he or she ought to be baptized (Matthew 28:18-19). We would love to walk with you through considering this opportunity to announce the change that has taken place in your life and proclaim that Jesus paid the penalty for our sins. If you haven’t made a commitment to Jesus, we would still love to hear from you to answer any questions you may have and help you to learn more about what it means to be a Christian.

How do I take this step?

Baptism Sundays happen every 4-6 weeks at each of our churches during services. Several weeks before, we have a baptism class where those interested have the opportunity to meet with a pastor who will walk with you as you consider baptism. This class does not obligate you, but allows you to explore and learn the meaning of this sacred symbol. To attend our next Baptism Class or have any of your questions answered, email baptism@sojournchurch.com.
