What exactly is this event?
What a great question. People typically gather as a community indoors, enjoying the luxury of air conditioning. Well, this isn't that type of event! Community Games is the first of its kind here at Sojourn East. We want groups to gather together, lace up their sneakers, and compete against other groups. This is a great opportunity to work as a team, sweat, compete, deepen relationships, and have a great time. Creative attire is definitely encouraged!
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can young kids play?
These games are designed for teenagers and above.
What games are we playing?
Teams competing should aim to have at least 8 people, but can have as many as they see fit. The more people you have, the more rest in-between events. Some games only require 2 people, while others may require 6. Games include:
Egg toss, dizzy bat relay, ski race, speed ball grab, speed tic tac toe, 3 legged sack race, and tug of war.
How are the games scored?
Only the top three teams in each event will earn points. The team with the most accumulated points at the end will win first place. We will also recognize the 2nd and 3rd place teams.
Who needs to register for this event?
To keep things clean, the group/team leader is the only person that should register their team. Please communicate that to your team.
How can we capture the moments?
Take as many photos and videos as your heart desires. If you use social media, post your photo or video with the tag: #communitygames
Can I come even if I am not participating?
Of course, we encourage you to come. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the festivities.
