Johnny Cash once sang, "You're so heavenly minded, you're no earthly good." For much of its recent history, the church has been so heavenly minded that its people have treated their bodies like they're no earthly good. Many Christians struggle to understand themselves because they view the body (and the things of the body) as bad or unspiritual. But Jesus himself was embodied, living life as a man, experiencing the very things that we experienced. All this to redeem every part of us, including our bodies.
This year's Singles Conference, "Your Body Matters to God," will cover a wide-range of topics revolving around how the body and faith intersect.
Our main sessions will be taught by Dr. Gregg Allison and Dr. Alexandria Ford, both of whom have studied this topic extensively. We will have breakout sessions taught by various Sojourn Church Midtown pastors and members covering topics like anxiety and depression, gender, physical health, emotions, the effects of pornography on the body, and more.
The conference will span two days, October 12th (7:00PM - 10:00PM) and October 13th (9:00AM - 4:00PM). There will be a two hour lunch break on Saturday to eat off-site. This year we will not be offering childcare, but will be offering a discounted price for Single Parents to help off-set any necessarily childcare expenses.
The conference price is as follows:
Early-Bird Pricing - $20 (Ends on September 3rd)
Regular Price - $25 (Ends on October 7th)
Late Registration Price - $35
