One Vision, One Story

Do you want to be someone who knows their Bible? Who doesn't just read the words, but is formed by the story?

You're invited to be a part of One Vision, One Story, a group Bible-reading plan and weekly discussion.

  • The Bible-reading plan begins on Thursday, Jan 1.
  • Our first Zoom discussion is Wednesday, Jan 7.

The Bible-reading plan

We'll be following a modified version of the BibleProject's "One Story that Leads to Jesus" reading plan. This plan takes us through the whole Bible in one year, reading about 5 chapters a day.

See the Reading Plan

This plan includes some short videos that explain the books and main themes of the Bible.

The weekly discussion

In addition, we'll be meeting every Wednesday from 6:30–7am on Zoom for a short check-in and prayer time. Zoom leaders will alternate every other week. On A weeks, Pastor Jamaal and his wife, Amber, will lead. On B weeks, other pastors or CG leaders will leaders.

Weekly Zoom schedule:

  • 6:30–6:35 – Music and greetings
  • 6:35–6:38 – Prayer and short reflection
  • 6:38–6:55 – Breakout groups for discussion and prayer
  • 6:55–7:00 – Closing encouragement

Weekly Zoom Questions:

  1. What’s something new you learned about God’s character this week?
  2. What’s one way this week’s readings are shaping your love for God, neighbor, and Scripture?

Zoom access will be emailed to you after you register below.

Who is this for?

This is primarily designed for people who have never read the Bible before (or if who have read some and found it difficult). The short videos that go along with this plan will make it much easier to understand and appreciate the text each day. But everyone is welcome! This is also a great plan for you if you're an experienced Bible reader. Reading the whole Bible in one year (along with the additional content and weekly discussion) will spark something new for you.

Keeping things fun and friendly

These weekly Zoom gatherings will be an encouraging space to discuss the Word. To make sure it's a good experience for everyone, please commit to a few things:

  1. To give everyone a chance to talk. If you're a talkative person, that's great—you'll help conversation flow. But try to avoid dominating the conversation. Instead, leave space for others. Some people won't ever speak up unless there's an opening for them.
  2. To be friendly and charitable no matter what. Scripture discussion may lead to disagreement—that's okay. If you disagree, disagree while treating others graciously.
  3. To stay on topic. Meeting time is short, so it's best to share only those stories, questions, or comments that are relevant.
