J-Town Regathering Plan

Sunday services at Sojourn J-Town will be solely online on November 22 and 29. Read more below for what to expect when we regather in person.

Update: Sunday services will be solely online November 22 and 29. We are grateful for God's provision during this season, and we are grateful for you and for your continued support and patience. As we stated a few weeks ago, we are taking a deliberately slow and methodical approach to resuming in-person gatherings. Below you will find our current guidelines. We will continue to update you monthly on what to expect! We hold all of these plans loosely from a posture of trust in the Lord as we aim to regather in a way that is safe, flexible, pro-active, and loving to our neighbor. We know that our reopening date may seem too soon for some. If that is you, please hear that it is ok to not be ready, and we encourage you to continue tuning in with us online. For those of you who are ready to gather in person, we are eager to see you, even if that means that our gatherings will look a little different at first. Please check out the video above and scroll through the FAQ below to learn what to expect at our in-person gatherings. See you soon!

Your Sojourn J-Town Pastors and Staff

What We are Doing

  • We ask that everyone over the age of 5 wear a mask or face covering inside the building. We will have plenty of disposable masks available for you if you forget yours. All staff and volunteers will be wearing masks when not on stage.
  • Our ushers will help direct you to a socially distant seat in the auditorium. Our seats will be marked off for each service so that you don’t have to sit in a seat that has been sat in already.
  • We will be thoroughly sanitizing our spaces before, during, and after each service.
  • In lieu of handouts, our bulletin will be on our Sojourn app and giving online will be encouraged. Donation boxes will also be available near the auditorium doors for your convenience.
  • Communion will be pre-packaged and self-served. We will be not be serving coffee or food.
  • All doors will be open and the Connect Team will great you and direct you from a safe distance. Directional signage will be posted throughout the building and touchless hand-sanitizing stations will be available.

How You Can Help

In an effort to protect those around us, please stay home and worship with us online if you have had an elevated temperature (100.5 degrees Fahrenheit or above) within the last 24 hours, signs of illness (coughing, shortness of breath, sneezing), or if you have had close contact with a person who has symptoms like dry cough, chest tightness, and/or fever.
  • If you are in a vulnerable category or are unable to follow any of the guidelines we have listed, we also encourage you to continue to worship with us online.
  • Please wear a face covering and practice social distancing by keeping 6 ft between you and others. We know you'll want to shake hands or hug members of your church family. A wave is just as friendly during this time.
  • Please stay in your cars until 10 minutes before each service to allow time to safely dismiss the previous service and sanitize the auditorium before opening the doors.
  • Minimize mingling by going directly to your seat when you arrive on campus. And though our front lobby restrooms will be open at a limited capacity, please use the restroom before you come.
  • Sit with those you live with. This a great time for families to worship together!
  • Please follow dismissal instructions. If possible, please do not leave before the service is over and follow verbal instructions given by a staff member or usher.

For the time being, we are not requiring registration to attend in-person gatherings. You and your family are welcome to attend this weekend! If we reach the point where we can no longer seat everyone who attends while also accommodating those who are visiting, we will revisit the need for member registration if needed. Hope to see you on Sunday in person or online!

We will open doors 10 minutes before each service and an outdoor greeting team will direct you when to enter. Our services will last no more than 60 minutes and each service will be dismissed by section.

SojournKids classrooms are not currently open (a re-opening date is coming soon). Kids who are able to follow safety guidelines are welcome to be in the service with you. Otherwise, for families keeping their kids at home, we will provide online kids worship and lessons each Sunday morning. Additionally, our Family ministry team will be safely preparing handout activities for kids that you can pick up from a table as you walk in the door.

Sunday lessons, music and activities

If possible, we encourage you to use the restroom before you come and we have shortened service times with that in mind. However, our front lobby restrooms will be open to one person at a time and will be sanitized after each use.

Our facilities team is taking every necessary measure to maintain a safe and clean environment for any guest. We will provide touchless hand sanitizing stations. We will be cleaning our facility thoroughly after each service. In between the services on Sunday morning, we have team members cleaning specific high-volume areas of our campus. We will close off every other row of seats for each service, so you don’t have to sit in a seat that some else sat in already. Though we will be trying our best to provide you with a touchless experience from the parking lot to your seat, we will still clean all surfaces including the the armrests and other hard surfaces of chairs, door handles, bathrooms, and other surfaces in specific areas of our building.

Yes! We will be streaming our service online each Sunday at 11am. You can worship live with us on our Facebook Page or on our YouTube channel.

Community Groups are encouraged to continue meeting online during the month of June. For groups that decide to meet in person, we encourage you to follow CDC guidelines, to meet outside, and to not share meals together. We will not be hosting any church-wide activities on site outside of our Sunday gatherings in June and July. Stay up to date with future events on our Sojourn App!
