On the surface, it tells a beautiful love story – a noble man pursuing a noble woman by noble means to a noble end. On a practical level, it establishes David as a legitimate king for Israel through the lineage of Boaz and his act of redeeming Ruth into the people of God. But the most important aspect of the story of Ruth is wrapped up in Boaz as a redeemer and how this pictures what Jesus Christ did for all believers.
