Sojourn’s Pastor’s School is an ongoing, ten-month pastoral training program. This School exists to train men to serve, lead, and plant churches or to work within the context of the local church. We believe that the local church has a responsibility to raise up the next generation of pastors. It is the role of the church to train, test, and affirm equipped men for gospel ministry.
Deadline to apply for the next semester of Pastor’s School is June 27, 2013 (see below).
Pastor’s School is divided into 3 modules that are ten to twelve weeks each. Module 1 is Leadership, Module 2 is Proclamation, and Module 3 is Outreach. Within each of these modules, you will receive instruction from Sojourn Pastors concerning our vision and philosophy of ministry in regards to every aspect of church life. Each module has an instruction component and a cohort based component with pastors leading discussions within cohorts of 6 to 8 men.
Partnership with Southern Seminary
We are very excited to announce that it is possible to receive up to 18 hours of seminary credit through Pastor’s School along with an additional 9 hours of credit through Sojourn only core classes. Thus, within a year, a student can earn up to 27 hours of graduate work towards a seminary degree. If you are interested in learning more about this partnership, click here. If you have further questions, please email Director of Pastor’s School Josh Wilson for more information.
When and where does Pastor’s School meet?
We gather as men from 6:00am to 7:45am on Thursday mornings in the 3rd floor Conference Room at St. Vincent’s. This is the building where our Midtown Campus meets weekly for worship on Sundays.
If I am not a Sojourn Member, can I apply?
Yes. We limit the amount of spots for those outside of Sojourn, but we joyfully accept members of other church bodies to journey with us.
How do I apply or find out more?
Also, email Josh Wilson a (1) Pastoral Resume and (2) an affirmation letter from an elder at Sojourn or from a pastor at your church.
If you still have further questions, email Josh Wilson.
