Responsibilities:

As Executive Pastor, I direct the day-to-day operation and administration of the office and staff so that everyone is empowered to do his/her job to the best of his/her ability.

Family:

I have been married to my beautiful wife Bethany since December 2006. Our first daughter, Madison Lynn, was born February, 2009.

Hometown:

Born in Oklahoma but raised an Army brat (moved eight times in twelve years). I would call Cedar Rapids, Iowa home (it is where my folks live now).

Education & Experience:

Graduate of Iowa State University with a B.S. in Economics. I spent the last four years as an Armor Officer in the United States Army. Currently, I am pursuing my Master’s degree.

Vision for your position:

To equip and establish leaders for the work of ministry. To know Christ and to make Him known.

What brought you to Sojourn?

When I moved back from South Korea a friend I knew while stationed there had discipled a guy in college that had started going to Sojourn. I asked him about churches in the area and Sojourn was the first and only place I needed to attend.

Favorite movie/ TV show: Movie:

To End All Wars, The Power of One and Band of Brothers; TV: The Unit and Monk

Favorite music/ band:

Depends on my mood...classical and jazz lead the pack; I used to really like classic rock.

Favorite book other than the Bible:

Killing Fields, Living Fields, The Forgotten Soldier, Once an Eagle, and We Were Soldiers Once and Young...to name a few

Hobbies/interests:

Reading, travel, backpacking and kayaking
