Responsibilities:
All things communication, internal and external. Crafting or coordinating literature, visual and audio communication that presents the elders’ vision of gospel transformation and community. In the words of the famous hymn, I “tell the old, old story of Jesus and His love” as it is expressed and taught through the Sojourn community. Online, we express this through this website, a network of blogs, and social media. I regularly write for our online journal, TravelBlog, as well as sojournmusic.com. I also record short interviews with Sojourn pastors, deacons, staff and members in the Inside Sojourn podcast.
Family:
Three boys – Garrett, Logan and Connor
Hometown:
Jeffersonville, IN
Education & Experience:
Studied communications at Indiana University Southeast. Quit school to be a full time DJ and music director for a gospel music radio station. Two-time national gospel DJ of the Year nominee, writer of a few published short stories, tons of blog posts, worship songs like “Warrior,” “Lead Us Back,” “All I Have Is Yours,” “We Are Changed,” “Let Justice Roll Like A River” and “Living Faith,” and a children’s book called Our Home Is Like A Little Church, due to be published by Christian Focus later in 2010. Member of MinistryCom, an organization for ministry communication professionals.
Vision for your position:
My biblical role model for this position is Luke, the historian and writer of the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles. I want to make the vision, mission and activities of Sojourn Church as visible, clear and transparent as possible.
