Ministries
The Sojourn community exists in two ways: Sojourn Gathered and Group Life. The many ministries you’ll read about here are not separate “silos” or “territories.” They are components of our gathered worship and group living:
Sojourn Gathered
(Germantown campus) 9 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 5:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m.
(St. Matthews campus) 10 a.m.
Our worship service is an opportunity to express our faith together through song, Scripture reading and teaching. We meditate together on the truths of the gospel: God’s beauty and holiness, our brokenness and need for humility, grace, and healing, and the glory of Christ in uniting us to God and to one another in love. We encourage you to come as you are. Our Sunday gatherings are always a great time to meet new people, worship with the rest of the Sojourn family, and be challenged to grow by the Word of God. Meanwhile, our young children learn in age-appropriate Bible classes. Gatherings typically last about an hour and fifteen minutes.
Group Life
In a world that pushes us toward isolation, we believe that one of our greatest needs is community — a place where we are known, loved, and where we can grow together by serving and by being served. One of Sojourn’s greatest strengths is in connecting throughout the week in our Community Groups. We also have service-oriented groups and smaller accountability groups, as well as short-term learner groups that go through classes together. Read more about how to find and join a group in Next Steps.
Groups provide the “front lines” of discipleship, mentoring, care and counsel in our community. Taking an active part in group life is the best way to begin to develop as a ministry leader, as well.
