Responsibilities:

I am serving as the Director of Women’s Ministry and also as Sojourn’s Wedding Coordinator.

Family:

  • I am married to my high school sweetheart, Robert Cheong. On July 30 we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary.
  • We have three children; Ashley is married to Jesse (July 6, 2007) and Ryan and Whitney are in college.

Hometown:

  • I was born in Savannah, GA, and I am the oldest of three children.

Education & Experience:

  • I have three years of nursing school, but did not complete my degree. The Lord had different plans for my life!
  • I am a nationally certified group fitness instructor (ACE) and fitness trainer.

Vision for your position:

  • To help women to love, study and understand God and His Word
  • To help women to understand their identity in Christ and to grow in conformity to Him as a woman of God
  • To equip women to minister the gospel to one another in everyday life

What brought you to Sojourn?

Robert was called as an elder in March of 2006 and as his wife I joined him of course! I am excited to be a part of such a loving church family and a church body in which the Gospel is the center of all that we do!

Favorite movie/ TV show:

  • Movies-Pride and Prejudice; Father of the Bride
  • TV Shows-HGTV; Your Mama Don’t Dance; Dinner Impossible, 24

Favorite music/ band:

  • Motown, of course!
  • Seal; Gnarls Barkley, Tracy Chapman!

Favorite book other than the Bible:

  • Anything written by my husband!
  • Tim Lane and Paul Tripp -- How People Change
  • Paul Tripp -- Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands

Hobbies/interests:

  • Watching movies with Robert!
  • Hanging out and sharing a meal with our adult children!
  • Working out!
  • Talking heart to heart with women!
  • Relaxing and reading on the beach!
