Listen in as Pastor Daniel Montgomery teaches on what it means to truly repent as we both turn away from old ways and turn to a Savior – Jesus Christ.

Pastor Mike Cosper continues Sojourn’s Psalms series teaching on Psalm 22 and the seemingly lost ability of the church to worship in the midst of sorrow – to lament. Listen in as Pastor Mike encourages us to cut against the tide of culture and bring our whole lives before God’s throne – the joys and the sorrows. He will look at the necessity for lament in the church and examine why Jesus quoted Psalm 22 from the Cross.

Fittingly, Psalms finishes with a punchy call to praise the LORD always. Pastor Daniel Montgomery explores what that means in our lives and in our church gatherings.

The Scriptures are very clear – there is a path of wisdom and a path of foolishness and sin when it comes to sex. Proverbs 5 paints the contrast between these two paths very well. Down one path is fire and ruin, down the other is deep, satisfying waters. This week, Pastor Daniel Montgomery looks at the art of living skillfully as single people and married people when it comes to our sexuality. Week 4 of 5.

Continuing our Proverbs series, we come to the topic of friendship. We were created to experience life in a small community of close friends. The Scriptures clearly call us to pursue close friendships. The friendship of fellow Christians empowers us to grow and advance God’s mission in ways that would be impossible for us alone. As Pastor Daniel Montgomery explores, we all have a profound longing for close friends – and this is because we all fail to be close friends. Jesus Christ, by laying down His life for His friends (for us), was the only man to ever truly be a good friend. In taking our sins as bad friends upon Himself, He restored us to friendship and deep acceptance with God: He has made a way for us to be a true, close friend.

Most of us hear ‘wealth’ and we think of a rich old man who lives in a mansion, or we think of a rich young European who just wrecked his third Ferrari. When we hear ‘wealth’ we think, ‘Not me.’ However, the Biblical view of wealth is much broader – in the Scriptures we all have wealth because we all have received blessings from God. So the question is not whether we have wealth (we do) but how we use our wealth. Pastor Daniel Montgomery continues our series on Proverbs, this week looking into that book’s wisdom on wealth: how to get it and how to use it.

We all deal with work, whether it’s with our job or some other aspect of our lives, work is a fact of life. When we talk about work, we’re not just talking about getting paid. We’re talking about housework, schoolwork, even yardwork. Work is anything you do in order achieve a goal, whether you get paid or not. There are all sorts of ways to do work badly – from doing no work at all to doing way too much work. We definitely need wisdom, and that’s why God gave us the book of Proverbs, which begs the question: would you rather be an ant or a sluggard? Listen in as Pastor Daniel Montgomery kicks off a 5 week study of Proverbs. Week 1 of 5.

The leaders, in turn, used the people to serve themselves. In short, instead of loving God and loving people, everybody was ignoring God and abusing people. Into this situation, the prophet Micah spoke truth – and it’s Micah’s proclamation that Pastor Daniel Montgomery focuses on this week. Listen in as Micah proclaims judgment and points forward to the Shepherd-King who was to come. As Pastor Daniel explains, the Shepherd-King is none other than King Jesus. Merry Christmas!

Noah saw the rainbow, Abraham saw the fire pass between the halved animals, Moses saw the Passover blood on the doorpost, David saw the temple. And Hosea married an adulterous woman. Listen in as Pastor Daniel Montgomery examines this unexpectedly dark picture of marriage, the pain of betrayal in marriage and the high cost of restoring a broken marriage as it gives us the clearest picture of all of God and us: how God loves us, how our sin grieves God’s heart and how far God goes to bring us back to himself. Week 49 of 52

As God steps in, inscribing a mysterious message on the wall, and Daniel comes to give God’s message, we see Belshazzar’s story clearly written: destined for death, incapable of measuring up and having nothing of permanence. It was Belshazzar’s story and it’s our story, but thank God it’s not the end of the story. Listen in as pastor Mike Cosper shows how closely woven our story is to Belshazzar’s and how Jesus comes in and completely re-writes the writing on the wall.
