This is the covenant that all members-in-process must sign after having their membership meeting, and the covenant to which all members must adhere.

This document includes the constitution of Sojourn Community Church (Louisville), to which all members must sign and adhere in the Membership Covenant.

THE PURPOSE OF THE SOJOURN MEMBERSHIP COVENANT IS:

1. To join the Holy Spirit in forming an authentic church community that reflects the relationship between
the Father, Son and Spirit.

2. To clarify the on-going blessings & responsibilities of each partner.

3. To encourage consistency, accountability and loving unity within the church family.

4. To accomplish Godʼs call for the Sojourn church family. This agreement does not imply that you will
never fall short of the goals, but that the desire of your heart is to fulfill each of the responsibilities stated
to the best of your ability. We trust that your commitment will be a personal blessing to your own journey
in Christ, as well as blessing to those around you.

Do you want GOSPEL CHANGE? It begins with:
1) Rescue – for those of you who don’t know Christ, the message is simple – BE RESCUED! Come today and surrender your life to Christ.
2) Restoration (Gospel-Change) – For those of you who have already been rescued, restoration for you is continual – it is ongoing and we all need to be looking and listening to where we are spiritually in order to grow.

We want to give you handles for this, in the form of the Personal Renewal Plan (PRP). It takes about five minutes to do. The PRP doesn’t start with you “Doing” things, but rather, it starts with reminding you who you are and what God’s call is for our lives. We are all weak in certain areas and we need to seek renewal in those areas. If you’ve been rescued by God’s, His hand is on you! This is a promise!

Some of our evangelical Presbyterian (infant-baptized) brothers and sisters have found it difficult to find a gospel-preaching church that they can lock arms with. While we remain unwavering in our commitment to believer’s baptism, as best we can, we want to make space for them – to provide spiritual accountability, fellowship, and a place to serve. We’re calling this “watchcare membership.” If accepted as a watchcare member, an infant-baptized Presbyterian may not vote in membership meetings or serve as an elder or deacon.
