In the projected budget for 2010, you will find two things:

• Our 2010 Maintenance Budget—a budget based on maintaining all the ministry we’ve accomplished this year .

• Our 2010 Health Budget—a budget based on our vision for healthy growth in giving and ministry .

We believe it’s essential to call our members to regular, proportional, sacrificial giving . And we believe that as our members answer that call, we will grow beyond the budget that we’re operating in right now . So the Maintenance Budget is written to reflect giving as it stands; and the Health Budget reflects what we believe giving will look like when our body grows in healthy giving—it is the goal towards which we will be reaching and calling for your commitment .

The Process Of Becoming A Sojourn Deacon document

Deacons within Sojourn are servant-leaders recognized for their service, their leadership, and their character. They must meet the requirements of 1 Timothy 3:8-13 and they must be functionally serving as a leader in the ministry area for which they have been called. After being asked and prayerfully accepting, a deacon candidate will enter a training process with their direct ministry leader.

The deacon process is designed to provide uniformity as to how Sojourn calls, equips, and releases its leaders. While there is uniformity to the process, each ministry leader – at his own discretion – should apply appropriate training according to the ministry area.

THE PURPOSE OF THE SOJOURN MEMBERSHIP COVENANT IS:

1. To join the Holy Spirit in forming an authentic church community that reflects the relationship between
the Father, Son and Spirit.

2. To clarify the on-going blessings & responsibilities of each partner.

3. To encourage consistency, accountability and loving unity within the church family.

4. To accomplish Godʼs call for the Sojourn church family. This agreement does not imply that you will
never fall short of the goals, but that the desire of your heart is to fulfill each of the responsibilities stated
to the best of your ability. We trust that your commitment will be a personal blessing to your own journey
in Christ, as well as blessing to those around you.

Germantown Study And Needs Assessment PDF

Residents of the German Paristown neighborhood submitted responses to the Quality-of-Life Survey, the major results of which are shown on the “Survey Results” page of this snapshot. Additionally, an energetic and enthusiastic group of twenty-four neighbors attended a resident workshop on August 20th, 2007.

The meeting brought together residents, Lisa Franklin Gray, Neighborhood Liaison from the Louisville Metro Department of Neighborhoods, Councilman Jim King, and planners and workshop facilitators from the non-profit Center For Neighborhoods. The primary result of this public workshop and the residents’ energies is the Action Matrix.* In addition to being a “to-do” list of neighborhood improvement projects, this document outlines sustainable partnerships between the German Paristown neighborhood and all the identified entities, such as Louisville Metro agencies and private business organizations. Their combined efforts will continue to help each other realize their common goals of a healthy and prosperous neighborhood with an ever-improving quality of life.

St. Matthews Area Ministries Needs Assessment Report

The Board of Directors for the St. Matthews Area Ministries (St. MAM) voted in favor to embark on a needs assessment journey in partnership with the University of Louisville’s Kent School of Social Work during the year 2007.

A needs assessment is a systematic process that was used to acquire an accurate, thorough picture of the strengths and weaknesses of St. MAM. It was used to identify the service needs of the member congregations and surrounding communities for improving, protecting and preserving what the ministry currently responds to in significant volume, and what might be identified as needs not yet met. It was a process that collected and examined information about ministry-wide issues. The data is then utilized in order to determine priority goals. Also to assist as a tool for developing or redeveloping a goal-driven plan or path for the ministries and to identify funds and resources to assist with answering the identified areas of need.
